Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrick Ellefson. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Patrick Ellefson started working in the car business in Mexico as a mechanic assistant at the age of 14, then moved to Texas at the age of 17 and began working as a detailer/assistant for a car dealership in Dallas Tx. Patrick Ellefson moved up to a sales guy position, after realizing how much he enjoyed working with cars and customers, then he decided to start selling cars on the side, Finally, Patrick decided to take a leap of faith and open up his own dealership called RPM Garage. He started as a normal small car dealership, but always knew he didn’t want to be just a regular boring car dealership. He worked hard enough to the point that he has made the car dealership a dream for any car enthusiast. Classic cars, Lamborghinis, Ferrari’s, and any unique car you can imagine. Patrick not only has fascinating cars; he has a space created just for gear heads that like to see more than just cars. RPM Garage is full of captivating Artwork, Kaws figures, an upstairs Lounge with games and racing simulators, and even a clothing brand designed by Patrick himself.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Since Patrick was raised in a humble family and didn’t have much help from anyone around him, he struggled to make rent for his apartment each month, he had enough money to eat only tuna sandwiches and ended up dropping out of college once he realized it wasn’t for him. Patrick was able to push through all of those hardships and continue to deal with the judgment of being a college dropout, and working late day after day to be able to afford rent and finally, after all the hard work, Patrick finally started seeing results.
We’ve been impressed with RPM Garage, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
RPM Garage isn’t the typical car dealership. RPM Garage is an environment where you can come hang outlook at cars and buy a rare car. Our team is trained to be respectful because no one likes a pushy salesman. We want our customers to feel like family and we ensure customers enjoy the whole experience, from the moment they step into RPM to the moment they drive away in their dream car. Being able to help the customer with buying their dream car and watching them leave with a big smile on their face is an experience like no other.
