Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Ndolo.
Hi Christine, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am originally from Cameroon; Central Africa and I have been in the US for 12 years now. I came with my mother and my little sister who are in Maryland. I came to Texas for college and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences at the University of Texas at Arlington. I have worked in the makeup industry while in college and in Legal Compliance afterward. I am currently working in HR for an Accounting firm.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth ride. Nothing in life ever is. However, through patience, resilience, hard work, and grit, I am creating the life I always envisioned for myself and my family.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work for a well-known accounting firm as an HR specialist. I am proud to help employees within the firm navigate all kinds of situations from payroll inquiries to Compliance requirements etc. I am very proud to be a source of comfort for them when they feel lost or confused. What sets me apart is my ability to remain calm when employees are panicking or stressed out. I like to collaborate with them when I don’t have an answer right away. This fosters an environment of trust and care. The employee feels my involvement in their case and they trust that I am going to assist them to the best if my abilities.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Empathy Care
Understanding
Thoughtfulness
Levity
All of these contribute to my success. There is not one without the other hence why I listed more than one.
