Check Out Zavior’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zavior.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m Zavior I’m originally from Monroe Louisiana moved here in 2009. I’ve always been into creating. Watching my mom sing in church or my dad in the car on the way to school. Music has always had a pretty big impact on the way I look at the world. I started taking music seriously pretty recently. I got onto the scene probably about 2.5 years ago but I was really just trying to learn as much as I could. I sing, rap, produce, mix and master, write and there’s actually still more that I can do. I’ve had a few mentors to teach me how to make beats and the basics of mixing and mastering as well as teach me a bit of the business behind music. But most of it I learned on my own by doing research. My goals are much bigger than most artists I’d say so I normally stay to myself. I also started throwing my own shows last year to help expand my fan base. I want to open Music studios/schools across the country to teach anyone who wants to learn not only the creative side of Music but the business side as well.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s difficult for me to answer that because no road is completely smooth. I doubted my abilities for years. I literally just decided to stop holding back like 2 days ago. My family and friends support me. Just as the local music scene I’ve continued to grow. I’ve been doing everything on my own but I know for me to go further I’ve got to trust people to help me. Music has always come easy but having the right people to support you and really push you to be your best is difficult. I’ve been blessed to make many connections over the years. Expect big things from me and soon the team.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a multi-genre, multifaceted artist. I make Indie R&b, Neo-soul, Rap, and Lofi. I sing, rap, write, produce, mix, direct, photograph the list just goes on and on. I’m proud to say I’m a creative. Because I don’t have to focus on one thing at all times, I can explore different outlets and try new things. What sets me apart from others is definitely my singing, lyricality, and my beats. I tend to add my vocals to beats in the background to make them sound cooler when I don’t know how to play an instrument.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
To stay true to myself and if I really want this, I’ve just got to put the work in to do it. There’s more than 1 way to do things. I want to perform for millions but there’s a process I must go through before that happens. If you want to do something, just go for it there’s nothing wrong with having multiple streams of income at a young age.
