Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Jabari Davis.
Hi Adam, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In August of 2016, I moved to Dallas, Texas from my hometown Columbus, Ohio. I always wanted to model and act. I participated in plays in high school and college. I didn’t know how to monetize it or get in touch with any agencies.
I joined some tfp pages which means test for print and I began building up a portfolio, once I built up a portfolio I started reaching out to agencies. I got a lot of nos and I also received constructive criticism on what I needed to work on. I took all of that into account and I pushed to be better, but not just better I wanted to be the best. For 3 years until 2019, I worked 40 plus hours a week while chasing my dreams to become a model/actor.
In September of 2019, I signed a major modeling contract with my 2nd agency and I quit my 9-5 and have been building my name in this industry since. I have worked with Beyoncé, Solange Knowles, The Rock, Netflix, and a good number of brands.
Today I enjoy spending my time with my fiancé and son. We love to travel, eat great food, attend lakers games (or should I say Lebron Games), and visit comedy clubs across the country.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road. I have had times that I wanted to give up and stop pursuing it full time because I wasn’t seeing immediate results or I felt like I was being looked over. But one day I came to a realization that life would be so boring if we just won everything or got exactly what we wanted when we wanted it. We need adversity because you grow as a person when you have to go through it, it makes you a better person. I am so glad that nothing was handed to me because it makes success taste even sweeter, it’s also fascinating to me that 2016 me thought he had everything figured out. Every day is an opportunity to learn and get better.
To anyone who is struggling or they feel like they are at their breaking point, keep going, it doesn’t rain forever. April showers bring May flowers. Sometimes you don’t realize how far you have climbed up a mountain until you get to the top. Sometimes you have to sit back and reflect on the past year to truly understand what you have done and it truly helps put things into perspective.

I am a creative director, model, and actor. I am known for my photoshoots, creative shoots, and acting, I think I am most proud of working as a brand ambassador for Savage X and being published all over the world, I think what sets me apart from others is my versatility, my look allows me to showcase a wide array of characters.
