Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina Curry.
Hi Kristina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Healing and alternative holistic healing has always been a part of my life. It started when I was young. Working in the corporate world for 10+ years was great but it was not my calling. With faith in myself and the support of my family, I was able to turn not only my craft and passion but my livelihood into a business. I give thanks for grace of the most high, the support of my family and my customers.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. Nothing is always smooth, it takes time, dedication, and faith. I although I am considered a millennium I not a fan of social media, and sometimes I find it difficult posting or being present on those platforms. I have a store in the Parks Mall in Arlington and a Website, some days or weeks I have 0 – 5 customers some weeks I have 10 – 30. So, for the financial part of it especially it being your sole income can become quite worrisome. I create, make, sell and offer services so when it comes to inventory and time management there seems like there is little to no time for yourself, but when you have a true passion for healing, and being a creative; when you see the fruits of your labor it gives you the motivation to keep going. You know that the many sleepless nights, no going out, and less time for friends and others is all temporary and very well worth it. Money and Time management are the biggest struggles, as long as you have the vision and plan it won’t get the best of you.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
What do I do? I am Healer, Teacher, and Student. I teach others about Alternative Holistic Healing while specializing in Chakra Alignment and Sound Healing. I am also a create Healing Jewelry made from Crystals and CBD Bath & Body products which I am licensed to grow and produce. My business is just like a child, it is my pride and joy. I am most proud of the growth that it has taken not only as a business but for myself, mentally, physically, emotionally, and defiantly spiritually. I come in contact with different energies and people on a daily bases, but what touches me the most are the youth who come back just to talk or come tell me about their progress. Especially the young men. It’s a joy to see the breakthrough of each individual.
What sets me apart from others? I would have to say being my full authentic and transparent self. I am genuine and intentional. When you enter my space, you will know that you are in a safe space, a protected space, a loving space, and healing space. I create comfortability so that you have room to be you, to speak your truth, to heal, or find healing. Life gets the best of us sometimes and it’s hard for us to slow down and become aware, I want you to slow down and become aware of everything. It doesn’t matter if you are buying something from me, booking a service or not, my space is created for you to BREATHE!
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Advice I would like to give is, building a business is not like popcorn. It is not microwaveable. It takes time, dedication, and patience. Create a business plan for yourself, create a timeline for certain things and or products, create a budget, and then execute. Never not ask a question and never stop learning. Be sure to NEVER sell yourself short.
