Conversations with Sara Garcia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Garcia.

Hi Sara, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It all started with being a first-time mom stay at home mom and battling with postpartum depression a good friend of mine encourage me to do crafting for therapy purposes she help me set it up and teach me how to use the machines and even started doing personalized items as gifts (cups, shirts, badge reels, keychains), for family and my friend who is a blogger started posting on social media I received orders from everyone she knew, when pandemic hit it didn’t slow down for me I got super busy and a lot of my friends started making their business and me and another friend had attended our first vendor market together and we said why not make one in our area this helped for me to make more new ideas personalized items and always find a way to make someone smile and happy with my work, I love we helping others start their business by hosting events for them in the area

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There is a lot of competition on that field but I know we all make things super special and different it has been hard the fact that I work a full time and I am a mom but my customers are super understanding on deadlines and they always come back to Me so that makes me super happy.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I work at Baylor hospital for the transplant administration I do pre-kidney for the Spanish community meaning I process applications, make orientation appointments and help get all the stuff necessary for patients to get listed for a kidney, I have Been in this job for 9 months and I have accomplished so much I recently received an award for exceptional service and it’s a big deal at the hospital I really love helping my Hispanic community.
