Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Alexander Kim.
Hi Jason, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Before the pandemic started, I found myself restarting my fitness journey. I spent the prior years focusing on work and putting in long hours. In doing so I neglected my health quite a bit and lost sight of what ‘being healthy’ really meant. I realized the balance in life I once had wasn’t there anymore and I needed to find my way back. So, I started to carve out time out of my day even if it was 15-30min and focused on ways to improve my nutrition and my outlook on fitness. In doing so I started creating content around healthy recipes and my powerlifting journey as a way to share my creations but also gave me an opportunity to hold myself accountable.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s always a constant battle trying to juggle a full-time job and creating content on the side. While its difficult on a day-to-day basis, the accumulation of positive comments you receive from your audience really helps to bring light towards your goals and continue on this journey towards building something great.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a marketing executive for an aws cloud consulting company at the moment. I think having worked professionally for over 13 years and getting into the social media game a bit later in life has given me some wisdom and worldly experiences some may not have had yet. My social media demographic tends to lean towards individuals who are in their early to late twenties so I have the opportunity to provide insight or knowledge to help others grow when I can.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
I think this book gets quoted often and sometimes considered too simplistic but I love the Atomic Habits book. I think it’s extremely relatable if you take the core concepts and apply them to your own personal goals. Whenever I’m planning my goals for the year, I always focus on the system I’ve got in place to help me be as productive as possible. The concepts in this book are great and give you a framework to apply towards your own projects.
