Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Turley.
Michael, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up in upstate NY, eating pizza everyday and eventually working in pizza places. I went to college and met my friend and business partner. He got me a job at the pizza place he worked at. We graduated and went on to start normal careers. After a few years we decided that we’d much rather make pizza. He convinced me to come check out Dallas because it was cheap for a major city and there wasn’t a lot good pizza here. We pooled our resources together and made it happen.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Shockingly, it was pretty smooth. The biggest challenge is getting good people to work the hours since we are open to 3 am on the weekend.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Serious Pizza – what should we know?
We make big NY style pizza. We throw it in the air in front of you. The XL is 30 inches. Our kitchen is open so you can see us make the dough and the pizza right in front of you. We offer you a lot of pizza at a good price.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The most important quality is that we make the dough and sauce. Quality food without overcharging.
