Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Williams.
Alicia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have been immersed in creativity since I was child. Music art fashion and travel. I grew up surrounded by entrepreneurship and a family of hard working individuals. I grew up in McKinney Texas the East side I had been to over half the US in my teens. Learning to embrace individuality and diverse cultures were mandatory and has provided me with the ability to collaborate and create with some of the best in the arts grass roots organization photography poets entrepreneurs I am always studying.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a business is never smooth and I would not be successful if I went into this assuming that Aziza people love you and think you are so dope and positive etc and so forth.
Yes some may expect it to be from the ones that are around them each day, however I know what separates me from the expectation of that narrow minded perspective is every opportunity I have had and encountered even individuals who are of certain level of celebrity or fame has embraced my mission and supported it because I am my self at all times.
No, I would not have the growth and the loyal customers who trust me and my product. I am the face and advertising for my brand. So I made sure Stay Down For The Crown embodies all that I do. It’s officially a promotion company because I don’t limit myself to being in a box.
I am a Mother Aunt Sister Poet Model and Entrepreneur and probably leaving out a few titles, but those attributes come from my tribe.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on”?
I created a natural yoni care line of products I’m 2020 and it launched officially in 2021 under my Stay Down For The Crown brand. It’s called SNATCH and the oil is my Best Selling product handcrafted by me with all natural ingredients high grade vegan essential oils. Naturally anti fungal anti inflammatory anti bacterial and can be used a a natural lubricant. Can be used for hair face and body. The ability to eliminate hyperpigmentation and ingrown hairs is amazing.
SNATCH is my way of changing the narrative about Black and WOC with body positive images and discussion. Women are always under the attack having to either seek validation, or justifying and apologizing for being sensual sexy even vulnerable even in our own community. SNATCH symbolizes what we need do is educate empower and embrace all that we are as women.
