Meet Kiersten Bond of The Barre Code Dallas- Highland Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiersten Bond.

Kiersten, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always been interested in health and fitness. I was involved in competitive cheer and track in my younger days and carried my love of health and fitness into selecting my college degrees. I hold a BA in Public Health Promotion and Pre-Medicine from Purdue University and a Masters in Health Sciences from The University of Alabama. I taught barre classes for two years while in Alabama but I sought a program that went beyond the barre, thus I found and fell in love with The Barre Code.

While teaching Personal Health classes at the University of Alabama, I trained to become a Master Trainer in Chicago and began the process of opening my own Barre Code Studio in the Park Cities area of Dallas. I have owned, operated and trained all of my instructors at The Barre Code- Highland Park studio for over 3 years now!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, it hasn’t been a smooth road! Owning your own business is difficult but I already knew this before choosing to become self-employed. My parents are also small business owners, therefore I already knew that you must put in blood, sweat, and tears to succeed. It’s on you and only you to have a flourishing business.

One of my biggest struggles if finding a work-life balance. There is always work to be done especially when you technically have 4 different positions, Instructor, Master Trainer, Accountant, and Marketing Director! Sometimes you have to know when to take a little time for you to enjoy your loved ones.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about The Barre Code Dallas- Highland Park – what should we know?
I am Owner and Master Trainer of the Barre Code Dallas- Highland Park! While not working on the business aspect of being an owner or training new instructors, I teach Barre Code, HIIT, TBC and Brawl Class Types! I love to share my passion for fun fast-paced fitness classes with my clients!

My favorite part of my job is getting to know each of my clients on a personal level, creating a wonderful welcoming community! I pride myself on having a studio that welcomes all women of different fitness levels to be apart of an uplifting fitness community!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Tenacity. Success is not a straight easy road, it’s a constant uphill battle. One of my favorite quotes for success is “Work like there is someone working twenty-four hours a day to take it away from you” (I believe this is said by Mark Cuban BUT you may want to look into that one!).

To succeed at anything in life, one must take the good with the bad, ‘roll with the punches’ and not let the bad shadow one’s dreams! Go find that sunlight at the end of the tunnel and be tenacious!
