Life & Work with Trey Moore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trey Moore.

Hi Trey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, it all started almost 30 years ago when my mom and dad met and fell in love… just kidding. I operate a small business in Dallas that deals with media and marketing for real estate agents. It was a long and twisted path that led me to stumble into this line of work.

I was born in Dallas (South Oak Cliff) but grew up in Arkansas. After high school, I kicked around at various jobs in the real estate world. I wasn’t the most mature or forward-thinking young adult, but got an inside look at the real estate industry and retained some valuable information from those jobs.

Fast forward to my mid-twenties – I pack up from Arkansas and move down to Dallas. Partly due to needing a change of scenery after a breakup. Partly due to a desire to live in a large city like Dallas.

When I first arrived in Dallas, I didn’t know what to do to make money. So, I signed up to drive Uber until I figured something out. (Talk about stories – you never who is about to hop in your car). One day I had a passenger who told me he photographed homes for real estate agents for a living. I was intrigued. I had some knowledge of the real estate industry and also knew how to work a camera pretty well.

I went home and researched the DFW real estate market. I went out and met some wonderful people within the real estate world who introduced me to many other people within the real estate world down here in Dallas. I slowly built a network. I started with taking photos for real estate agents’ listings. I slowly added services such as aerial photos, video, 3d tours, social media management, various marketing tools, etc.

Now it’s 2022 and everything is going great!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I would say the biggest struggle at first was being self-disciplined enough to run a business. It took me a while to find the discipline to have the proper balance and learn how to manage my time correctly. Also, it took me a while to learn how to simplify and automate a lot of my processes. A lot of the backend things like bookkeeping, invoices, etc. didn’t come natural to me. So that was a little difficult as well.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
The creative side of my work is photos and video. But I offer photos, video, aerials, 3d tours, floorplans, marketing materials, social media marketing, and much more.

I really like making a nice creative video for an awesome house. Lake homes or Downtown condos are my favorite.

What sets me apart is I offer quality and every service that a big box company offers, while still offering the close and personal customer service of a local photographer. I have a small local team and I am easily accessible.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Building positive relationships is the most important thing in life and in business.
