Hi Rathna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
DFW Sports Medicine opened on May 3, 2021, in the middle of COVID-19 pandemic. The idea was to provide a concierge level of service to patients suffering from musculoskeletal type of injuries by providing them with nonsurgical treatment options in order for them to get back to their daily lives. As the clinic started to evolve, there was also a need for patients to return to caring about their overall well-being and aesthetic appearance. We started to introduce aesthetic services to complement the patient’s needs under one roof. In this one year, we had the honor an opportunity to serve the community and hope to grow in the coming years moving forward.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a clinic in the middle of a pandemic has definitely been a roller coaster ride. One of the challenges was to keep both the patient and the staff safe and healthy. Other challenges arose that were unanticipated such as shipment delays as well as backorder of medical equipment and supplies. On a positive note, it definitely challenged us as physicians to come up with creative ideas in order to bridge the gap in patient care, especially in the pandemic setting.

When a patient expresses their happiness for helping them overcome their ailments, there are no better words to describe what that truly means to us. We understand that patients usually end up in a loop of frustration where they are trying to find answers and relief and finding that information and providing them the relief to where they can go back to being functional in their lifestyle is unmeasurable.
