Victoria, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I discovered the art of Microblading when I was searching for an artist for myself. I found an opportunity in the client education piece of the industry. It was difficult to find answers to the questions I had about the procedure and the healing process. As I began researching more, I became fascinated with the different techniques and science behind the procedure.
I completed my first Microblading training and quickly fell in love with the permanent makeup industry. I set my sights on mastering hyper-realistic Microblading and took as many training courses as possible. I then completed courses in permanent eyeliner, lip blushing, eyebrow lamination, and Botox. My goal is to provide as much information as possible to ensure all potential clients feel educated before booking their permanent makeup session(s).
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the major struggles Brow Beauty by Victoria has overcome, by far, has been COVID. During the height of the COVID outbreak, tattoo studios were forced to shut down for nearly two months. Since permanent makeup falls under a tattoo license, I was forced to shut down my business and cancel the clients I had on my schedule until we were notified. I lost out on so much business. I knew it was going to take a while to rebuild the momentum I had built through 2020. Luckily, my clients waited for me to re-open! I’ve never been so grateful for their loyalty.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in hyper-realistic Microblading. This is what I’m most well known for. Over the years, I’ve also mastered the craft of permanent eyeliner and lip blushing. I’m most proud of the transformations I’ve been able to achieve on those most in need of them. When I have a client who has suffered from alopecia or a cancer survivor and I’m able to create the most realistic looking eyebrows during our Microblading session; it makes all the time I’ve spent training worth it. What sets me apart from others is the time I take ensuring my clients are able to communicate exactly what they hope to achieve. I always give my recommendations when it comes to pigment and shape, but I also take the time to learn more about the client’s goals. I factor in long-term healed results and talk them through what they can expect over the next years.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Put in the time to master your craft! So many times, I have new artists reach out to me for advice on building clientele. Once you produce great work on clients, you’ll have walking billboards for your business. Word-of-mouth is what has really driven my business over the years. Continued education is also key! It’s important to take new training every 6 months to 1 year in order to stay current on new techniques and technology.
