Today we’d like to introduce you to Denton Art and Performance Collab.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We started out as local makers and musicians working at other markets and events. Sometimes finding it difficult to find at least one large event each month to keep the money steady, our founder Ali Oop, decided to start planning them but needed a bit of help to make it happen. Adding local musician, Bret Crow, and local baker, Alex Clifton, to the team was just what she needed to be successful.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
We have had a lot of much-needed support as we’ve faced a number of challenges when scheduling markets. One of the biggest struggles we’ve faced is having to reschedule or cancel events due to weather. Markets are very dependent on good weather!
As you know, we’re big fans of Denton Art and Performance Collab. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
DAPC collaborates with other small businesses to grow our community together through art and music. Something that sets us apart from other event planning teams is we collaborate with many different businesses and are always looking for more locations and opportunities to share our success with! We have noticed that many other teams similar to ours normally find a “home” or business that they have a residency at, so their markets are always in the same place. We can see where the benefit of this is, but our goal is to get more and more people involved. What better way than to pop up at different locations and promote all the local businesses we can?
What do you think about happiness?
We love seeing our vendors, musicians, and venues thrive at our events! We have had great feedback from everyone involved.
