Today we’d like to introduce you to Race Austyn Boggs.
Hi Race, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I was younger, I modeled and I loved to draw. A designer, Jenay Dean, asked if I wanted to design the next dress, I wore for her at New York Fashion Week I did and I modeled it the next show! I also designed and made hair pieces for Bentley and Lace and they were showcased at LA Fashion Week. My mom and I were talking at a show in New York a few years ago and I asked her why nobody did jean jackets because that would be so cool. She told me I could! We came home and I had my first showcase that next September with upcycled clothing and denim jackets I designed. In February 2020 I had my first real show with Prestige Top Model NYFW with 18 models. I’ve done NYFW every February and September since and even had two collections last September. This past year I decided to start doing pop-up shows to sell my jackets and my mom and I expanded it into a boutique showcasing my jackets. I’m in charge of the tween/teen line. We are a mobile boutique right now but we may have a storefront soon
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been fun. I’m only 16 so being a teenager sometimes managing my time gets tricky but I really like being creative. I get to travel and experience a lot of new stuff.

I design jean jackets. I use all kinds of media, paint, sublimation, vinyl transfers, material, rhinestones, fringe, and lace.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Taking vacations with my family! I don’t really have a favorite
