Meet Viviana Flores of VIP Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Viviana Flores.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began my journey April 2016 by going to aesthetics school in Irving, Tx. When I graduated months later in November, I knew that I didn’t want to freelance right away, I wanted to work at a spa first. But unfortunately, I couldn’t seem to find a place that would hire me because most spas require months if not years of experience. Thankfully I was able to learn how to do eyelash extensions by taking a free course at a lash studio in Dallas but they did not hire me for, what I’m assuming, being too slow at lashing. I then started a job at TitleMax to help with bills and then l would lash from home as soon as I was off work at 7pm on weekdays and then lash pretty much all day on the weekends. My goal was to do this for at least a year but after 3 months of being consistently booked, I knew it was time to go full-time.

I found the perfect salon suite a few miles from home so it was the perfect transition for my current clients. My goal once again was to stay at this salon suite for at least a year and see where it went. I surprisingly outgrew my little room and decided to open up a storefront to have room for more services and staff.

I decided to stay in Lewisville because it was the best area for my current clientele and the rent for storefronts was more in my budget than the surrounding cities.

I signed a lease for 3 years and once my lease was up, I decided that the best move would be to head towards Frisco, Tx.

My husband and I had recently moved to Allen, Tx so Frisco would be a lot closer to me and I had been hearing so many great things about Frisco from a lot of my clients. Many of them ended up moving closer to our new location so it worked out for them and we have also gained so many more new clients since we moved here in July 2021.

I started off by offering eyelash extensions, body contouring, facials, waxing, and teeth whitening when I was in Lewisville. But at our new studio in Frisco, we offer eyelash extensions, lash lifts, permanent makeup, brow services (wax, tint, brow lamination), waxing, and body contouring.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I’ve hit many bumps in the road these past 5 years. The biggest have been dealing with renters who have leased from me in the past. And dealing with a lot of staff changes. Thankfully we do not struggle with bringing in business, the issue is having the right amount of staff members to handle the amount of business we bring in. As well as the skillset that my staff brings to the table. If it is not on the same level as mine, our clients definitely notice and take note of it. That is currently a struggle that we are facing at the studio.

We’ve been impressed with VIP Studio, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The studio offers services such as eyelash extensions, lash lifts, permanent makeup, brow services (wax, tint, brow lamination), waxing, and body contouring.

But we definitely specialize more in eyelash extensions!

I think what sets us apart from the rest is how much pride we take in our work. We’re constantly learning new techniques for every service that we offer, and practice until we are perfect and feel comfortable offering all of these services to the public.

We also love making personal connections with all of our clients! Our phone number allows text messages that way our busy clients who may not be able to give us a call to schedule appointments or ask questions, can just text us!

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
The best way I have found to network is by going to networking events, my favorite are women networking events. Especially because we offer mainly feminine services. The way I have found these events is by searching for hashtags on Instagram and Facebook such as #dallasnetworkingevent, #womennetworking, #womensevent.
