Today we’d like to introduce you to Alana Grace.
Hi Alana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started writing when I was about five or six years old. I wrote a book titled, “Let’s Talk About Love”, and published it around that age. Couple years later I stopped because school took the fun out of it. Fast forward to my seventh-grade year, my mother started homeschooling me and my siblings. I started writing more (thank you mum and dad) and later published “Can You Keep a Secret” and “Who Killed Mr. Lemarcus???”. Around the time when “WKML???”, my family and I started eating plant-based. I didn’t cook often when we were nonvegans, but I cooked some meals. When we started our plant-based journey, I fell in love with it! On February 6, 2021, we had Yah’ki and his wives come to our hometown church in Greenville, Mississippi (Grace Outreach Bible Church). Me, my sister, with help from a friend, sold out three times and made over $200 dollars at the “Eat to Live” conference. Now, I’ve created over 69 recipes, and have a cookbook out on Amazon (“Zoe’s: Eat. Drink. Live”). I also create promotion videos or fliers and have created majority of my family and I promo fliers myself.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Other than having writer’s block, the only struggles I had was getting distracted. I love to read. I spend 6 hours or more reading.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I do many things lol. I write, I cook, and I design. I would like to say that I’m known for my cooking. Though I do a lot, I cook the most. I’m proud of is my creativity. Even if it’s something I’ve never done before I’m proud of myself because I tried something new. If it doesn’t turn out right, I’ll try again and again till I get it right. I would like to say that being homeschooled sets me apart from most of my peers that I know. Aside from that I would say what sets me apart is the things that I do.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
5-10 years from now, I see me having a successful vegan food truck AND restaurant. I see myself getting better and better at graphic designs. I see my clothing line becoming one of the greatest fashion lines ever. I see me making sells from all my books. Even the ones I have out now. I also see myself being more confident in my singing so I’ll have a couple albums out too!
