Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Williams.
Tiffany, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My name is Tiffany Williams, a Hairstylist, and Educator, the founder of Denyce Boutique. Married mother of three. I’m a native of New York City. My family and I moved down to Texas a few years ago. We left Rockford Il for something new, change and growth.
My Husband Doug and I found ourselves with no more children at home anymore. I had to come up with something to keep myself busy, I’ve always wanted to open a hair salon and a boutique together. But because of the love of teaching and educating my current students, I had to find a way to do both.
So I decided to do an online boutique. Coming up with a name was easy because I named it after my three children who are the pillar of this company Deonte, Ny’chole and Cierra (CeCee) altogether is pronounced (dee-knee-ce). My vision for the company is to focus on plus size women first then everyone else. Women are beautiful in so many ways and I want to dress them.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It wasn’t a smooth ride. I didn’t know what I was doing, who to talk to nothing. Starting this company was an idea Faith and a few thousand dollars. When I would go to other boutiques I kept wondering where are they getting these awesome items. So I would research online other boutiques there style what was hot what was not.
Thinking what can I do for my plus size women. I sat down came up with a plan made sure all my I’s was dotted and all t’s crossed. Gathered a team together to help me put all the pieces together. I was so thankful couldn’t have done it without my team of students.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Denyce Boutique story. Tell us more about the business.
Denyce Boutique is online only at this time. We cater to plus size women 1x-4x and also have the same styles In small-x-large. I want plus size women to feel good about themselves by looking just as good as the smaller person. This is how I came up with the slogan ” Beautiful in so many ways”. So I search for clothing that I can get in all sizes.
I’m most proud of being able to please the consumer. Finding wonderful clothing for them no matter if they are going to a wedding out with there friends or on a date. It’s affordable for the pocket. If there Happy I’m Happy. I’m willing to personal shop if needed. I would love someday to open a storefront boutique.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I have the support of my husband and my children. My mom support has been amazing. No matter what ideas I have ever come up with this has been the best. I enjoy it. I’m lucky to have the support of family and friends. I’m so thankful for my clients because without them this wouldn’t be everything that it is.
