Today we’d like to introduce you to Bethany Brackebusch.
Hi Bethany, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started modeling about a year ago, I got into modeling after I suffered an injury and split my forehead open resulting in a scar. I think beauty if a mentality, not a physicality, and working in the modeling industry has really helped me come into myself and realize that our imperfections are what make us human! Human is beautiful! A photographer reached out to me through Instagram and asked if I would be interested in a test shoot, it went great and he reached out to agencies he knows, and then I signed with my mother agency: 42 Model Management. After working with my mother’s agent and growing into myself i was blessed enough to receive the opportunity to work in the Mexico City market with Contempo Models! I lived and worked in Mexico City for 3 months while being enrolled at The University of North Texas as a full-time student. Working in a different country was so much fun and filled with so much opportunity. I loved getting to experience a new culture hand on, there was so much history, love, and beauty in the city! It really inspired me to work hard and represent my agency in the best light possible. Being involved in the industry and being able to surround myself with so much diversity has made me evolve as a person.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been a smooth road! For every chance you take you will get just as many “no” or “we aren’t interested”. But that is the beauty of the industry, just because one place may not like you does not mean another place won’t. This industry requires you to have a lot of self-confidence and be able to recognize your worth, I like to think every no is another chance I can take somewhere else!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Along with traveling and work, I am still a college student! I am a full-time student who transferred fully online after the Covid-19 pandemic. School has not always been the easiest thing for me but I have been able to both chase my dreams and continue my education while working abroad! I actually made the Dean’s List which was so satisfying! I am a first-generation college student, and I want everybody to know that you can do anything you put your mind to! If you want something, make it yours!
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I like best about our city would have to be the American Airlines Center. Go Mavs! I grew up going to The Maverick games and I love my team! Basketball is definitely one of my favorite sports to watch.
