Today we’d like to introduce you to Dannyelle Mendoza.
Hi Dannyelle, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I am a wife and mom of 3. Since I was a little girl, I had been told dynamite and diamonds come in small packages. I am 4’9, so in 2017 being a SAHM I decided to start a t-shirt, custom item business. Dynamite and Diamonds, which I still do things from time to time. But when Covid hit and everyone being in lockdown just about everyone I knew started doing them too. So, I knew I had to do something different. One weekend December 2020 I Sold cheesecake jars. I sold over $300 that first day and I couldn’t believe it. I had so many repeat people asking for more I chose to do it the next weekend and after turning down so many people during the week I was constantly praying about what to do next. And a few conversations with close family and friends I decided why not? I’m going to start another small business. Desserts with Dannyelle came into play. And for a year and half it kept my family a float. By itself. With a few hiccups along the way of course. It wasn’t easy, I cried several nights, stayed up late, didn’t sleep, prayed for an order the next day because the light bill was due. My husband had just had bad back injury and ended up needing surgery so it was just me for a while. But God is great all the time and of course, we made it through. Here we are a year and half later and now we do caterings for birthday, business meetings, we’ve done some for the Dallas County Jails. I am also a member of the Greater North Texas Chamber of Commerce which has connected me to so many wonderful people. We also have our jars at Nubias Drive-Thru in Dallas located at 4007 Urban Ave Dallas Tx. We restock about once a week with them. It’s been an amazing journey and it’s just beginning. I have over 30+ flavors and that’s doesn’t include my holiday flavors nor the other desserts I now have as well.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been easy but it’s always been worth it. Like I mentioned before I mother of 3 and a wife, which again as I mentioned above my husband needed surgery. So, he was out of work for about two years. But he is now working, business is constantly growing and I am always up to something and thinking about what’s next. I am trying to focus on not focusing on the struggle and focus on just finding solutions.

Everyone tells me it’s the perfect taste, not too sweet but not sour. It’s just right. Cheesecake with a twist my slogan. And once you try it, I promise you will just see what we are talking about! 😉

I have taken cupcakes and replaced them at parties is what my customers like to say!
I do different colors, themes to match your party or event. I now offer loaded funnel cake fries with cheesecake as well.
And I offer several offer treats/desserts too and do custom orders. My number one priority is making sure the customer leaves satisfied and always comes back 💕
Another big thing is I offer delivery all over the DFW. I’ve travelled over an hour for treats.
I also have a small business group on Facebook called Small Businesses United where all other businesses post and promote their products and services and I try to post uplifting motivation for us entrepreneurs.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite child memory would be every visit with my Great Grandma Celia, she is the reason I am who I am today. She owned her own business for over 50 years and was one of the first women to ever own a business in Downtown Dallas. She is one of my biggest inspirations and even my logo she’s incorporated with a little rose as she called me Rosebud since the day I was born.
