Hidden Gems: Meet De La Nique Stubbs of Queen Nique

Today we’d like to introduce you to De La Nique Stubbs.

Hi De, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I was born and raised in New Orleans. I didn’t think I would be forced to leave my home. Unfortunately, Hurricane Katrina hit, so I moved around and have been in Texas since 2017.

I’ve never had long eyelashes, but have always adored them. Mascara wasn’t doing enough for me and I didn’t like any of the lashes available in stores. Something was always missing. Naturally, I started searching for a solution and found it. I launched my lifestyle brand Queen Nique shortly afterward because everyone deserves everyday luxury. Life is short and difficult enough, so I hope my brand makes people feel good!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. With entrepreneurship/self-employment comes a lot of education, time and money spent on your brand, and studying. It was worth it though because I’ve learned so much and it wasn’t just handed to me.

As you know, we’re big fans of Queen Nique. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Queen Nique is first and foremost a lifestyle brand. There’s definitely more to come! MINKED is a reusable lash line with various styles. Silk is raw Indian hair that lasts for 3-5+ years with proper care. It’s very easy to bleach, tone, and color. What sets me apart from other brands are my high-quality products and affordability. Raw hair is the highest quality because it’s not chemically treated. Usually, buying raw hair can be very expensive. I wanted to change that for myself and others, so we could enjoy quality hair that barely sheds and last for years. I’m really proud of providing accessible luxury. In addition to selling my products, I’m also a REALTOR®. Buy, sell, or lease your next home with me!

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the beautiful Dallas skyline! I always look forward to the lights changing. I dislike the potholes and food. This city is really rough on your cars, no matter how carefully you drive. Being from New Orleans, the food doesn’t compare at all. Sorry, Dallas!
