Community Highlights: Meet Nicole Clark of Twelve 12 Ministries

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Clark.

Hi Nicole, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The one-summative sentence about the purpose of my story is: I believe in lighting up the path of transformation and healing by re-finding ourselves when we slow our efforts long enough to sit and listen for what’s next (and there you have it, the moment our stories just became besties).

I have spent the last 20 years as a professional dancer, choreographer, dance instructor, and studio manager learning the importance of hard work and perseverance. After returning home from world tours as a backup dancer for artists such as Justin Timberlake, I began to slow my body and soul. This is when I was ready to open the door and pivot into God’s work in the church ministry space.

I now use my unique and well-rounded creative and compassionate gifts to serve others in a meaningful way. I also tell my story of infertility to bring healing to those who are searching for the light in this dark place. I have a passion for creating and encouraging women (and a few men) to find hope and fulfill their purpose.

In 2017, I founded a local nonprofit women’s organization called Twelve 12 Ministries. Inspired by Romans 12:12, the organization helps women and families through tough seasons in life, with an emphasis on infertility, grief, and loss. I also host events that get to the heart of what we are facing in the current state of our world so that we can navigate our light in the darkness, with the tools I provide in hand. When I’m not doing all of the above, I hold space as a co-host on the Purpose Beyond Motherhood podcast. Where we use our voices to encourage women to be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer to find their God-given purpose beyond infertility and motherhood.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all! However, I am thankful for life’s Purposeful Puzzle Pieces. God rescued my story by taking me on a journey from loss to dreaming with 3 Ps to overcome and then step into the woman He created me to be. There were several turning points or transitional seasons where I lost a lot. 1. Experienced loss in my career as a backup dancer with Justin Timberlake 2. I walked through a season of infertility and pregnancy loss 3. Loss of identity while creating my ministry, podcast, and business. I went from People pleasing, Perfectionism, and Pride to Peace, Perseverance, and Purpose.

We’ve been impressed with Twelve 12 Ministries, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Twelve 12 Ministries creates a safe space for emotional restoration, physical healing, and spiritual discipleship for women who have or are experiencing infertility.  Where grief, fear, pain, and doubt are countered with hope, patience, and prayer. No matter your experience, Twelve 12 Ministries is ready to walk with you into a place of healing.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
God’s timing is perfect and “If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together”
