Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Joon Cho & Dr. Tommy Song. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Dr. Cho and Dr. Song started their journey when they first met during their undergraduate studies at UT Austin and continued to complete their doctoral degrees together in Houston. Both Dr. Cho and Dr. Song always envisioned of creating their dream dental office where they could provide patients with the highest quality of patient care with a special focus on cosmetics. That is how Smile Lounge was created. Smile Lounge is a dental office created to take the dental experience to a new level and to provide the highest quality dentistry without any compromise.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has certainly not been a smooth road. Due to our focus on esthetics of the practice combined with COVID, our construction was delayed and took more than a year to complete. Our patients called eager to see when we would open and we would just have to push them back indefinitely. Needless to say, the practice is the most beautiful and unique dental practice, not only in Texas but in the world.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Most important lesson we learned during this journey to bring Smile Lounge to completion was to never lose focus on the goal and work hard to motivate the people around you to have the same mindset. Alignment of your team with the same goal in mind is essential to obtaining the outcome you need. We are only at the start of our journey and we are excited to focus on enjoying every process of our growth.
