Exploring Life & Business with Dr. Neha Patel of ReEnvision Eyecare

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Neha Patel.

Hi Dr. Patel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey started at a young age when I knew my passion was to help people. I became passionate about optometry as a career since I grew up needing glasses at a young age. Being an optometrist is very rewarding to me as many people are not educated to know how much one’s overall health impacts their eye health. I went to University of Texas at Arlington to receive a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and then attended optometry school at the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, Texas.

After graduation, I moved to Fort Worth, Texas for my first job as an associate optometrist. I spent 7 years serving the people of Tarrant County while I worked in Fort Worth, Texas. I was mentored by many senior colleagues during my time there and learned about practice management so I can familiarize myself to establish an optometric practices of my own.

I strive to be a leader in my profession. I have been the President of Tarrant County Optometric Society from 2019 to 2021. My role at the local level then allowed me to pursue a role at the state level. I became a Board of Trustee for the Texas Optometric Association (TOA) in 2020 and am currently serving in this role at this time. As a Trustee, I co-chair the Membership Committee and direct a leadership program called TOA FOLD (TOA Future Optometric Leader Development).

Now, I am so excited to announce the opening of my own private practice optometry clinic, ReEnvision Eyecare. We soft opened June 16, 2022, at our first location in Frisco, Texas at the corner of Main St and Coit Rd. We are very excited to serve Frisco residents and the residents of the surrounding cities.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It certainly was not a smooth road, but the challenges of the journey is what makes it more exciting. The biggest challenge to opening a cold start optometric practice is financial. Most independent private practice doctors fund their capital investment themselves. Once that is sorted, the next challenge is looking at a potential location for your practice. After countless days of driving with my significant other to look at different cities, neighborhoods, intersections, and streets, we came across an area that had a great outlook for optometry. Afterward, we did a market viability study and demographics study to look at what our potential patient profile looked like in the area. We immediately fell in love with what Frisco had to offer for young entrepreneurs.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
ReEnvision Eyecare was established to offer patients with a seamless eye exam experience. We want to make the process as smooth as possible from beginning to end. We offer basic and routine eye care services for patients of all ages. My passion is in ocular disease and specialty contact lenses. Specialty contact lenses we fit include scleral lenses, hybrid lenses, orthokeratology, and other custom-made contact lenses. Some examples of ocular diseases that we manage are glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and keratoconus. We will accept walk-ins and same-day eye emergency visits.

Our optical boutique offers eyewear and sunwear for people of all ages at prices that are affordable yet are very high quality. Our optical has premium designer frames, independent frame lines, and locally-made frame lines. We pride ourselves on our Made in USA and Made in Texas frame collections. We truly believe our optical collections have a style for everyone. We offer the best warranty on our frames and lenses because we value quality and guarantee that we will meet your expectations.

Apart from services and products, we offer state-of-the-art technology. Our digital refraction system makes the eye exam experience less stressful and fun! I pride myself in a thorough discussion about eye health after the eye exam is finished. I like to talk about necessary steps that patients can take to ensure optimal eye health regarding appropriate screen time, nutrition, vision correction options including LASIK, contact lenses, and much more. Lastly, I love when my patients ask questions because I want my patients to know how important their eye health is.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Our office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday and 10:00 am to 3:00 pm Saturday. I am on-call during after-hours for eye emergencies as well. We’d love for anyone interested to come meet me and see our brand-new eye clinic and optical.
