Today we’d like to introduce you to Dallas Diaz.
Hi Dallas, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had an artistic background and found that being creative is where I truly thrive. I always enjoyed creating elaborate, avant-garde makeup looks on myself, which progressed to doing makeup on others for events and Halloween parties.
When I learned about Microblading, I just knew it was for me! It merged two of my passions: makeup and tattoos. As you can see, I’m slightly covered in body art! I did a ton of research and decided that I was going to take a leap into a new profession.
When I make a decision about something, I go ALL IN. I saved up and took time to get the proper education. I was lucky to be able to fully devote the time to hone my craft. From the moment I transformed someone’s brow— no, from the moment my blade touched my first client’s skin— it all clicked. I knew this is what I was meant to do!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
During the first two years, I actually worked two jobs! I was a Microblading artist by day and a Blackjack dealer by night. I was living a double life! It was a bit of a struggle finding time to sleep and manage everything, but I worked hard and pushed myself.
My goal was to fully support myself by doing what I loved! When I was finally able to quit my job at the casino, I knew all the struggle was worth it. I felt like I made it!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I started out only doing brows, but lips have quickly become my true love! Lip blushing is definitely the new “it” thing.
From correcting asymmetry to sharpening faded borders, the entire experience is so satisfying! I can color-match one of your favorite lip shades or create a custom color specifically for you! The options are endless.
I think my favorite thing, however, is when a client trusts me to do a full-face transformation: brows, eyes, and lips in one sitting! I take your natural beauty and just enhance everything up a few notches. Seeing the confidence in my clients’ eyes when they see themselves in the mirror has to be the most rewarding part of my job.
What’s next?
The future is looking bright AF! I recently made a major life change. I packed up my husband and four cats, and we moved from Florida to Dallas! Yes, my name is Dallas and I now live in Dallas— it was meant to be!
I’m also the newest member at The Brow Project and could not be happier. We all instantly clicked and became this little family. We were recently named “Best Microblading in Dallas” by Modern Luxury, and have so many more amazing things in store! Be on the lookout. You’re not ready.
