Today we’d like to introduce you to Libby Miller.
Hi Libby, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
From as early as I can remember, I was always playing up in my great-grandmother’s in-home beauty shop. I loved seeing all her tools and asking her about her days as a beautician. From those early days, I just knew I was going to make a career within the beauty industry. Fast forward to my junior year in high school, I couldn’t wait any longer, and with the unwavering support of my mom and my boyfriend (now husband), I took the plunge and decided to finish school early and start at my local cosmetology school what would’ve been the beginning my Senior Year. 9 years later, I have not an ounce of regret. I love the salon life. Every single part of it. I love getting to be creative with blonding, living in colors and extensions, and truly helping my guests feel as beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside. That’s a feeling that will never get old for me.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Building any business is never a smooth road. When I first became licensed, I went straight into renting a chair, and there were plenty of times my now husband had helped me pay my lease and encouraged me to keep working towards my goals. I took the opportunity while I had free time to be in the salon to learn and absorb as much education as I could. Everything from taking online classes, handing other stylists foils, and asking questions. I wanted to take in as much as I possibly could. With that and being consistent with my social media marketing, I was able to build a clientele of women I truly love and enjoy having in my chair.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in blonding, living in colors, and hair extensions. In simple terms, I provide high luxury hair for low-maintenance women. I’m so proud that I’ve built a clientele of women that I genuinely enjoy getting to hang out with. They’re like me, they want to be boujee and look their best, but they’re businesswomen, moms, nurses, etc., with busy schedules, so there’s no time for harsh roots or dull colors. I provide my girls with lived-in looks & aftercare that make them feel like they just left the salon weeks after their appointments.

When you have a passion for something, go for it. Unapologetically bust your tail and make your dreams happen. And when in doubt, pray. God’s plan for us is so much more amazing than anything we could ever imagine on our own.
