Today we’d like to introduce you to Britney Taylor.
Hi Britney, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always had a love for animals, especially dogs. I was on my journey to be a vet when I realized I want to see them happy and goofy but never sick. I knew dog grooming was my real passion. In 2006 I attended a dog grooming academy and have now been a master groomer for 16 years. I wouldn’t wanna do anything else. I’ve become part of the coolest families. It’s truly a gift; not only do I have a passion for styling your fur kids’ hair and making them look their best, but I also build trust and bonds. That’s my favorite part of my career. All the fur kids I get to style for years. I spent 11 years of my career building relationships and bonds for a pet resort in Heath, Tx. After it was sold and due to covid, I left there about 1 1/2 years ago. Seeking a place of my own, I’m currently independently contracted at Dawg life doggy daycare pet resort, where your pup can play, stay, or get trained; then come to my spa for a relaxing blueberry facial massage and soothing bubble bath and a fresh, beautiful style!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been tough finding a place to lease to a groomer with build-out. It’s also difficult starting over in a new area that the community doesn’t know, so it’s tough building new clients for haircuts not being known. I do have hope that word of mouth will spread that Dallas has a sweet, caring master groomer around the corner. Being an independent contractor has its overhead as well.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a professional master dog groomer of 16 years. I’m known for my work on doodles, poodles, scissoring, and dished blowouts. I’m also known for getting your fur kid very clean. I do everything by hand from start to finish with no cage drying and the safety of fur kids to ensure a good experience. People also like that I go by appointments, so your fur kid is in and out and doesn’t have to be in a cage all day. 🙂 I want them to be happy for a spa day. I’d say I’m most proud of my reputation even though I’m starting I’m a new city, my old clients have a place to find me, and some have and that makes me very proud of my work. I’m proud I’ve kept years of relationships with pet parents and their fur babies.
We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Edward Scissors’ hands are why I’m so good with dog cuts. I watched it as a kid. Haha.
