Hidden Gems: Meet Rhonda Reddic of Reddic Realty Group with RE/MAX Associates

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhonda Reddic.

Hi Rhonda, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I kind of stumbled into real estate. Many years ago, my husband and I wandered into a model home unrepresented by a real estate agent. We were super excited to build our dream home and the builder representative encouraged us to use the builder’s preferred lender. Back in 2004 was the height of subprime mortgages and despite our good credit, we were put on an arm loan. We didn’t even know it until sometime later. There was nothing wrong with the builder, lender, or type of financing, but no one seemed to be working for us, which ultimately caused the biggest financial strife of our lives. We depleted all of our savings trying to keep up with the arm loan and taxes. It was awful! I decided to immerse myself in the real estate process… how could we have done things differently? Meanwhile, a friend had recently gotten into real estate and encouraged me to give it a try. For me, that was the answer! Had we had a realtor that actually represented us in the process, we would not have been in that predicament. I decided to give it a try. Took my classes, took the exams, and haven’t looked back. From the beginning, I knew I wanted to help people with their biggest investment, but I knew I wanted to also educate them about the real estate process. My husband joined me after I was in the business for about 12 years and he hit the ground running. We truly feel like we have a purpose!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road, but we truly believe that growth doesn’t come without growing pains. Like us, before we were Realtors, many people don’t understand the importance of a real estate professional. Most prospective buyers don’t realize that our services are free for them. And some prospective sellers don’t realize that there’s more to selling a property than putting a sign in the yard. There are legalities and ethics involved that could be costly down the road. So, getting the general public to understand this can be an uphill battle.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Reddic Realty Group with RE/MAX Associates?
We are a husband-wife real estate team that specializes in residential real estate in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. We truly think of our clients as family and pride ourselves on going above and beyond the call of duty. With that being said, it’s not just a transaction for us. Our goal is to be your realtor for life, so we keep in touch regularly by sending our clients treats and helpful information throughout the year. We also have an annual Client Appreciation Event, which to us feels like a family union. At this event, we treat our clients to good food, fun, and entertainment! For us, giving back to the community is huge. Before the pandemic, we frequently hosted free buyer workshops, which included lunch and featured other professionals that would help either financial planning or building wealth. We believe that underserved communities should also have access to financial literacy and be educated about the home buying process.

Additionally, we also sponsor a toy drive for Christmas, as well as back-to-school drives with our church.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson that I’ve learned as a consumer is to use professionals. This lesson catapulted me into this business with my husband. We went through a financial crisis that I would not wish on anyone, but because of those missteps, we are better equipped to guide our clients in the right direction. It’s a proud moment when you’re able to guide a young married couple on exactly what to do, and how much to save in order to purchase their first home. And while they own that home, continue to educate them on how to make the most out of their investment, and prepare them for the next home, and so on, and so on. It’s been quite a journey, but a most satisfying journey, for sure!
