My name is Chinyelu Ginigeme, mostly known as Nahna. Am the creative director of Nahna beauty (, memoriesbynahna and Nahnabeautyaccessories. Am a professional makeup artist with over 15 years of expertise, I specialize in a soft glam makeup look, a portrait photographer, and also an online store owner. My story is very typical of a girl that simply never gave up. I moved to the states from Nigeria where I was already established as a makeup artist in 2016. And had to build from the ground up. I added my photography business because of the demand. I knew my way around a camera because I took pictures of my clients after I have done their makeup. And they mostly always wanted to buy the unbranded pictures so I decided to hone in on that and it’s been awesome since. My accessories business, Nahnabeautyaccessories.com is my latest baby. And am at the brand awareness stage and understand what the customers want. Am also a wife and mom
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Struggles and challenges? absolutely. As I mentioned, Am also a wife, and a mom of two. Sometimes juggling all roles can be very tasking. Trying to adequately show up for each role every single day can be very challenging. However, it is not impossible. It just takes hard work, dedication, dogged determination, having a structure, and giving things allocated times.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I was scared to commit to starting paying for a space at a time when I didn’t have consistent clientele, but it has been one of the best decisions I have ever taken for my business and brand. So sometimes I think going out on a wing and prayer is necessary. I Am Christian so the direction of the holy spirit is key to me and I get confirmation through certain events that happen around the subject matter.
