Life & Work with Dianys Yánez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dianys Yánez.

Hi Dianys, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Hey, my name is Dianys Yanez, and I’m 27 years old. I was born and raised in a beautiful country name Venezuela, and I’m a Leo, a very important detail if you want to know about me. During my whole life, I have been trying to learn any form of art from singing and playing instruments to painting, dancing, and modeling. When I find my true passion on Painting and Modeling, it was just time to work hard, stay dedicated and be consistent. After I had my first child, Nikki Hinter Contacted me to work with her and her brand in a photo shoot; after that, I decided to start my modeling career professionally. My art on other hand started on quarantine when I had a lot of time on my hands, so I started painting, and people start buying. It was crazy because I never thought it was possible to make a living of my art and that people would support me like they do

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being a mother wasn’t a struggle, but it definitely made things a little complicated. Thankfully my husband is a Dj, so we could work with our schedule. Definitely language. Since English is my second language talking is not my strong suit, but thankfully, I have got better at it

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an Afro-Latina from Venezuela in Texas. I specialize on painting with acrylic on big canvases, mainly black and Latin American culture, portraits love painting live and hosting/organizing events. I’m also a creative director that’s something that I’m just starting, but I think will do on a long run. I’m bilingual (Spanish-English). I’m known for being serious and professional. I’m proud of being confidence enough to organize successful fashion events in the Dallas area never thought it would be possible. I strongly believe this is what good want me to do. I never felt more happy. Everything is connected. I know how to apply multiple forms. Of art and also how to be the canvas. I also got Corey Larey to sign a portrait I. Made do her. I love when artists see my art because music is a huge part of my creative way

What’s next?
7 months ago, I had my second child, so I’m focusing right now in getting my shape back. In the meanwhile, I’m looking forward working more in the creative direction and set design as well as prop making. I’m also helping on organizing the next Fashion Show Series with Ambi Coles Inc.
