Conversations with Bri Miller

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bri Miller.

Hi Bri, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
We were founded in April 2020 during the Covid19 Pandemic when face masks were hard to come by. We saw the need & met it. In a couple of short months, we made and sold over 5,000 masks to help people who needed them. Within a year & a half, That Apparel Co. (TACO) went from a kitchen table mask business to what it is today, one of DFW’s top female-run custom apparel companies.

Once life began to “normalize,” we saw a need in the market for superior custom designs at a reasonable price, so we put our education to use and creative drive to create quality custom designs. TACO became what it is today, a top-of-the-line custom apparel & accessories company. We use the best of the best brands for our products to ensure comfort & longevity of them, this is one of our top priorities. At TACO, we use digital printing which allows unlimited colors and any design you can dream of. We also offer embroidery, leather printed patches, tumblers, custom pens, and so much more! As a growing business, we strive to support other organizations of various sizes by having small minimum order quantities and bulk pricing on larger orders.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of our greatest challenges was how fast That Apparel Co. (TACO) grew! As one of the only custom companies in the DFW area that has our low minimum order quantities and online drop ship program for schools, charities, and new fashion lines, we quickly grew from our in-home studio needing a full-size production studio. It went so fast it almost made our heads spin because in one week we were comfortable, and the next week we were bursting at the seams.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
That Apparel Co. is a custom apparel and promotional item company. We specialize in creating high-end items for our clients at affordable prices. Our top sellers our Embroidery items and Digital Heat Printing.

Digital Heat Printing (DHP) is the newest and latest way of printing for apparel and accessories. It provides high-end and longest-lasting graphics. Unlike other forms of printing, you won’t be limited to design effect options. DHP allows you to do ombré effects and won’t lose any details on your designs. There also isn’t a maximum number of colors like traditional screen printing! That means the designs are endless! Not only are designs endless, but the options to put DHP on are endless.

We are know for creating an experience when the client opens their order as well as our drop ship program. Our clients have told us when they open their order it like opening up a birthday gift! Our TACO team individually wraps and tags each item, so each person who receives it feels as if it was especially for them! Our drop ship program was created to fill a need in our market and community. It allows us to help organizations and schools receive customized apparel without the hard work on their end. TACO hosts a website for their items; once an order is placed, we create it and mail it directly to the client. We also offer this service as a fundraiser.

TACO is the ONLY 100% female-owned and operated custom apparel & promotional items company in the DFW area. That makes us very proud of the way our company is growing by seeing a need and filling it! We truly believe that’s what sets us apart from others.

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Amy and I, (Amy is my co-owner of TACO) have known each other since we were kids. We grew us playing with each other even though there is a 5-year age gap. Our families spent a lot of time together. Fun fact when Amy was little, she couldn’t say “Brianna,” so she called me “Bee-Banna.” Family is extremely important to both of us because of that; we carry that into our company with not only ourselves but our team and customers too.
