Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Taylor.
Joshua, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been in the music and film industry for 20+ years now. Both my parents were musicians, so I was born into it pretty much. Through my deep love of music and entertaining people, I’ve literally become internationally known and embraced. My love for it all won’t allow me to quit.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has been a bumpy road. The main struggles have always been financial based. It takes money to make money. And when someone else’s money is involved, you have to compromise your artistic vision to some degree.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a southern soul Sangin knighted funkateer. I specialize in singing and songwriting in multiple genres. I’m also an exciting entertainer, whether on the stage or on film. I take pride in showing the funk out. At this point, I’m extremely proud that throughout my whole career, I still love what I do deeply. I will continue to create and demonstrate my gifts til God calls me home. The main thing that sets me apart from others is I refuse to not use every part of my being to make my audience go insane.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
The cliché saying ‘Follow your gut’ There were times I made my decisions based on fear and trying to please others. Listen to yourself and what that inner voice is telling you despite all.
