Seema worked for nearly 16 years in the jewelry industry before finally deciding she wanted to open up something of her own! Her clientele over the years had encouraged her and having had all male bosses; she felt it would be incredible to have a woman-owned jewelry store where her connections with people could continue to flourish on her own terms. Seema isn’t just a top saleswoman turned CEO; she’s a part of people’s families; she creates family heirlooms and makes memories with folks that last lifetimes.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It took a lot of persistence and grit to get the doors open on my own store front. I’m in a very “male-dominated world,” and that’s a struggle in itself I have to overcome daily. Seema & Co. Is my proudest accomplishment and having done it without any handouts. Built from my own pockets and never needing to take out business loans I started my dream. There were certainly many challenges along the way as with opening any new business, you face things you couldn’t have even predicted, but you just have to put on your lipstick and conquer the day.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
“Hard work and determination are vital to success.” “Comfort is a killer to following your dreams” if I had stayed at the prior jewelry stores, sure, I would have been doing well for myself, however, had I never made the jump to create my own empire and clientele, I wouldn’t know I could.
