Today we’d like to introduce you to Beth Raines.
Hi Beth, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
After graduating college, I worked in the B2B consumer goods industry as a customer service manager and then later transitioned to sales and marketing, which eventually led me to work for a large commercial real estate company. When that company was later purchased by an even larger company, I had the choice of either staying with the new company, going to start something new with my group, or going out on my own. I chose to venture out on my own and make the transition to residential real estate. After working with another residential real estate company for several years, I obtained my own brokerage license. Then around 12 years ago, I opened my own company and brokerage, Raines Realty.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think as a culture we tend to look at reality tv shows and think that everyone can be successful in real estate. That is by far not the case. Being successful in real estate has a lot to do with ambition, motivation, momentum, and your sphere of influence. Overall, for me, it has been somewhat smooth as I have put in the time and the work. A huge part of my success is setting realistic expectations for myself and for my company every year. I started my brokerage under the guise that I simply just didn’t want to pay large unnecessary splits to someone that really did nothing for me. Over the years, I have had agents that I trust ask to place their license with me here and there which has grown my company, Raines Realty, into a boutique brokerage. Are there challenging years, yes, of course? The covid year was hard for sure! Setting those realistic expectations every year though softens any blow.

Raines Realty is a team of licensed real estate agents in the great state of Texas who offers a complete suite of real estate services from residential homes to land sales to investment properties and luxury residences. We also offer virtual tours for those unable to view a property in person. We strive on meeting and surpass all of our client’s expectations as we want to be here for the long haul being their realtor for life! And as always, a great referral for us is anyone who wants to live indoors, but we can help you get to the land of your dreams if a tent is more your style!
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What brings me happiness in business is seeing my client’s joy and excitement when their offer was accepted on a quality, not overpriced home. In my personal life, seeing my husband and kids happy and loving what they do. For myself, driving in a car with the top down on a sunny and slightly windy day on an empty, deserted road with the radio blaring. Who doesn’t love that?
