Rising Stars: Meet India Anderson

Today we’d like to introduce you to India Anderson.

Hi India, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My name is India Anderson; my dream of being a creative began very young. I’ve always been into fashion and was influenced by my mother and her fashionable style. I stepped out on faith and started Immerse Fashion in 2020 during the pandemic. My business has fulfilled my vision; it has enabled me to use my creative skills and grow my faith. I started off with handbags, and slowly I will add more items to expand the brand.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This journey has not been a smooth road. I have to remind myself that it won’t be easy, but it will be worth it! Some of the struggles I have faced creating this business is finding a good and safe manufacturer. Finding someone that has a reasonable price and doesn’t lack in quality. Learning the business aspect of it was a new learning experience for me as well. I’m grateful for my husband and the knowledge he has brought with the financial aspect of the business. I say take your time because it will be a challenge, and you will be able to catch mistakes and learn from them as well.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
Immerse Fashion is a handbag e-commerce store. I currently have a new custom bag that is sustainability friendly. I’m looking forward to adding additional bags this fall. I also have a business with my husband, The Anderson’s Photography and Styling LLC. I’m most proud that I have continued on this journey, and I have not given up. I feel like I have a chance to make people feel good about themselves when they purchase a handbag from me or when I’m able to do photoshoots and capture memorable moments. I feel like God is guiding me in the right direction.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I feel like going into entrepreneurship is a risk all by itself. I took a risk by having a business and investing in 2 businesses. It is a financial risk it is also a risk that you believe people will want your services. It’s a risk to believe that you have something about you that makes people want to buy or work with you. I feel like I’m truly betting on myself. I have to believe in myself. I have to have confidence in myself. So Yes, I say take a risky and bet on yourself that you can make it and that you will be successful.
