Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Fairley.
Hi Ashley, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I started my love of Real Estate living in the Lakewood area of Dallas and then New Orleans, La. I would go to Open Houses for fun and could see so much potential in homes and would start envisioning ways to update them while still keeping the integrity and design of the historical aspects. Shortly after College, I started helping my mom find investment properties throughout both Dallas and New Orleans, as well as purchasing my own first home in Lakewood- all of which we renovated from the ground up! However, during all this time, I was working in a totally different industry and kept being told that I should work professionally in Real Estate. I was so afraid that working on what I considered a hobby would destroy my passion, so I stayed away for years! Well, I guess life has its ways b/c fast forward to today, and here I am, working as a Realtor in Dallas and having the time of my life! I’m actually about to venture into flipping and remodels as well- I close on my first one 10/1!!!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Ultimately, it’s been pretty smooth. It took me some time to find a brokerage that I molded well with. I love being around people daily, and working as an independent agent, took its toll on me. I felt alone and like I didn’t have the support I needed to consistently succeed. Once I finally found The Heyl Group and joined this team- everything sort of took off! Of course, it still takes lots of hard work, but it doesn’t seem so hard when you love doing it!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I work with The Heyl Group, a team of about 20 agents throughout the DFW area! We are a part of Keller Williams but at the same time, have the ability to operate as a completely different business! We specialize all over DFW; however, my areas of concentration are really all areas of Dallas. I absolutely love to work with buyers but have recently started to transition over to listings, so I have the ability to juggle a few more clients at one time! I have been told by many that they like my ability to create strong rapport with other agents to ensure smooth transactions, and I’m also very positive and patient. I don’t like to feel like I push my clients- this is a big purchase, and they deserve to get that same feeling I had when I purchased my home- excitement! My knowledge of the real estate market is also really strong.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was always very social, very active. I played all kinds of sports, traveled a lot with my family, and was just always involved in everything. I’ve always been a very happy and positive person! Soccer and basketball were my faves, and I played into High School until I decided that it was too much work to mix with my social life. LOL After High School, I moved out of state and went to LSU- so the social aspect of life continued. New Orleans became my home for many years until I moved back to Dallas with my husband!
