Hi Suzette, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Back in 2010, we were supporting a Ministry in Rwanda Africa. They invited us to come. My children at the time were one and three years old, and we went not realizing how deeply it would impact our lives and changes forever. After seeing the countless Street children, I had a conviction upon my heart to help bring education, training, food, and acts of compassion as well as the love of God. This is how Love 41 started.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Anytime you start a new business, you’re going to have large holes. Having my sister start this with me was a huge blessing. We have walked through the highs and the lows together. I think it’s important to have someone by your side who you can trust and is highly capable but is also willing to roll up the sleeves and clean toilets if they have to. My sister has always been humble enough to take the hard stuff, and the stuff other people don’t want to do. When you’re starting a business, you need someone like this, and she has been that for me.
