Today we’d like to introduce you to Cody Lewallen.
Hi Cody, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started quite young as a creator, and I’ve always been a fan of art myself. It was because of a very persuasive friend as to how I got into collage. Once I started, I dove in head first, and we created Cut It Out Collage. We’ve dedicated our lives to crafting one-of-a-kind 3-D collages the last two years and have created over 80 original pieces.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Our journey has been amazing so far; we have had great success with our artwork. I couldn’t have a better person to work with, Jelly has really shown me the way, and I couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of something bigger than myself.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a creator of life so to speak, my job is to give life shape and give the viewer something they’ve never seen before. I tell a story as I collage, and the smallest details matter. When you see the artwork up close for the first time, it’s mesmerizing; there’s so much to look at. You could sit and stare at one piece for hours.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Gratitude for sure. I’m grateful to my best friend, my wife, my parents, and my children. Each and every one of them teach me daily and I am a very lucky to have them. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t be who I am.
