Meet Tyler Wooten of Valor Coaching Agency

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Wooten.

Hi Tyler, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a father and husband, born and raised in Dallas. I currently hold multiple coaching certifications and have served as a Christian minister for 13 years now.

When I began my career in leadership, I had no idea how easy it was to feel lonely. I don’t believe it has to be this way, but the pursuit throws natural challenges to you. I assumed that when I began to pursue this path, I would quickly be surrounded by peers and mentors in my corner. In my case, and with many others that I partner with, this wasn’t entirely the truth. Some experience this even decades later.

I’ve had the honor of mentoring many leaders along the way, and, on many occasions, I have seen first-hand how lonely leadership can easily be. Years ago, I devoted my life to serving our current and future leaders. I just want to do my part in contributing to a society that our kids and beyond can live in. Having my firstborn completely changed the way I look at the future.

I’m more determined than ever to equip and encourage leaders of courage, hence the name ‘Valor’. Now, Valor Coaching Agency serves to do just that. Whether it be leaders in their first year, or those who have spent the majority of their lives doing so, we are in their corner.

We spend the majority of our time with leaders from Dallas to Shreveport, with our physical office in Shreveport. We will continue to expand our footprint and partnerships in Dallas as the years continue.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The first month was a breeze! Other than that, absolutely not.

Honestly, although we haven’t existed relatively long, I’ve asked myself on a couple of serious occasions if it were worth it. Of course, I end up evening out and always come to the conclusion that it is. It doesn’t take much to remind me so.

For me, my greatest challenge is applying patience. I must continue to remind myself daily of the reason I began the company in the first place. Over time and challenges, it’s extremely easy to lose sight of this. Oftentimes it’s about remembering that sometimes it’s not that I’m doing the wrong things if something doesn’t go “as planned”. Maybe it’s about simply doing the right things long enough.

There will always be more people to serve and more moves to make. The key is making sure I just do my part in it all, encouraging others to do the same. In other words, Valor can’t do everything, but we can do our part. Finding patience and gratitude in that has been our aim.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a coaching agency that focuses on helping Millennial leaders and their teams find solutions and fulfillment. Our premier program is the Valor Leadership Academy, which provides on-demand courses, content, and a leadership community for only $27/month. We instruct via Biblical principles throughout each session.

What do you think about luck?
Well, I’m much one to claim any sort of luck. As a Christian, I believe in Heavenly provision, grace, and favor realized at the right moment in time. We do our part, and The Lord will do His. As a result, I know I’ll be just fine with Him by my side.
