Today we’d like to introduce you to Amani Richardson.
Hi Amani, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Only 3 years ago to this date, I started with my first plate sell out of my garage. Today I stand with a lot of help from a lot of people in my 6th month of my business partner and I (David Newhouse IV) operating a successful restaurant and looking to potentially relocating to a bigger location.
A lot has happened in these three years, I have been awarded the opportunity to cook for a lot of amazing people and be a positive light to a lot of people. I’m definitely thankful and blessed
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Well just like anything in life nothing is easy and every stair you step up it just is a bigger stage and more possibility for criticism but it’s all a part of the journey and I honestly just take the good with the bad and keep God first in everything that I do.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Well, the root of my day with me being in my first year as a restaurant owner is honestly really laboring. I’m very much still in the kitchen and on the grill and when I’m not I’m usually just grabbing supplies and food or running to the bank or millions of other things on my to-do list.
The Passion Cafe is our restaurant and we specialize in Burgers, Phillys, wings, and cajun & Soul food cuisine
The thing I am proud of is that no matter how hard it gets I put my feet on the floor in the morning and get to it, even when I’m not even feeling it. I truly love it and I’m really big on getting out what you put in
I think the thing that honestly sets my apart is the hustler in me. I’m a hustler in every aspect of the word. I got to make it happen and it’s on me to make it happen
