Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexa Huddleston.
Hi Alexa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always loved coffee. As soon as I was able to, I got a job as a barista at a local shop near me. I worked there for a while and moved on to working at another coffee shop, closer to my college. I worked there for a while and then I worked for a coffee event company, where we had a coffee cart and would go to events such as office parties, weddings, and festivals, serving coffee! I ended my time professionally with coffee once I had my son, but continued to learn more and more about coffee through educating myself and practicing at home. It is one of my biggest passions. In fact, one of my favorite hobbies is exploring every coffee shop I can find in the Dallas Fort Worth area, and as I travel. I decided I wanted to turn my hobby and passion into something creative, as I have always loved content creation. This is where Cowgirl City Coffee came into play. I developed my website and blog as a place to educate others about coffee and share the amazing shops I’ve found. Alongside that, I have been able to create coffee content on Instagram and Tik Tok which is really fun as there is not a lot of that sort of content being shared.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been struggles of finding time to pursue this. I have a very active 14-month-old baby which can make it hard to find time to be creative and sit down and truly create. I want to be consistent with my platform but at times it’s hard to do that.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What I am most proud of is that on my website I have a coffee shop locator for all the shops that I have blogged about. It is a great resource for others in the area to find a new shop they truly love and feel welcome in.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is feeling happy and passionate about where you are at. It’s not necessarily the money you make or the title you have, but it’s about the satisfaction you feel where you are at and within what you are doing.
