Life & Work with Anne Pipes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anne Pipes.

Hi Anne, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Anne Pipes. I am a Christian, a wife, mother, Nurse, and a Content creator. I was born in Cameroon West Africa and moved to the USA in August 2005 to further my education. I started off in Texas but later moved to Baton Rouge, La for my Bachelor’s in Nursing. While in Baton Rouge I served at my local church in the youth ministry and I also sang on the praise team. My roommate and I led a small group of girls in our little bible study and I can remember the burden I just had for my little middle school girls. I wanted them to be girls who grew up to love Jesus and who were confident in being who God called them to be. The more I served and taught these girls, the more the burden on my heart grew not just for them but for other women. In my first year of marriage I told my husband I wanted to start something on social media that can be an outlet for me to encourage women and also share my affordable style, which people always gave me compliments about. He encouraged me to act on what was on my heart. So, I took some time, prayed and the name BeautyFullChick came so vividly to me.

The name sounds cheeky and a little corny but there is actually a lot of meaning to that name.
The meaning of BeautyFullChick is broken down into the three words that make it up:
Beauty – Encouraging ladies to embody their image in Christ and to be a reflection of him not just outwardly but from the inside out.
Full – to fill up with the right stuff so they can give out the right stuff
Chick – which simply means girl (woman) but also has a symbolism to a baby chick who depends on the mother hen for everything. In that same way, we need to depend on God for everything.
When I landed on the name and shared the vision with my husband, he immediately jumped on the bandwagon to help me get the ball rolling.
In 2018, I officially launched my Instagram as Beautyfullchick sharing encouraging messages and style inspiration to help any ladies that needed this kind of content. The creation process isn’t always easy (especially now with being a wife and mom to three beautiful little girls) but I have kept working and kept the ball rolling.

I was so scared to start this venture because I had no clue how it would pan out. But I’m happy I was able to pull the plug, be obedient to God and just start.
In the midst of the journey with my platform, I have also gotten to meet other amazing content creators and created a lot of great relationships. One of the amazing ones with my now friend Nathalie (who I also call sister) was a divine connection because we both found out our hearts are passionate for the same things. Through our relationship and talks God let us start another page together called Christian Style ambassadors where we feature other Christian Style content creators. We are currently in the middle of rebranding but the journey so far has been great. This and so many beautiful things happened by me just saying “Yes” to starting this platform.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been easy. I started beautyfullchick in my first year of marriage. My responsibilities in that year were not many, so content creating for me in that season wasn’t as challenging. But we quickly expanded from a family of two to not three but four, when we had twin girls in 2019. Then very quickly again expanded to five – another baby girl. During my twin pregnancy journey, I was diagnosed with a blood clot in my left leg and fibriods. I had to take extra care of myself since I was considered a high-risk pregnancy.

After my second pregnancy, I had complication from the c-section surgery and had to go back to the hospital while my baby was just two weeks old. That was a hard thing to do. When I was discharged home, I had a wound vacuum attached to me and frequent home health visits to help me restore my health. Then I developed post-partum depression and I was at an all-time low in my life. Needless to say, with everything on my plate (wife, mother of three under three, nurse, homemaker, content creator) I was overwhelmed and felt like I had nothing to give in that season. So, I took a long sabbatical of almost 1 year off Instagram to focus on me, get clarity from God, get therapy so I could get back to being the best version of myself.

I said on one of my posts on Instagram a long time ago, “Fill up with the right stuff so you can give the right stuff. You can’t pour from an empty tank “. I had to take my own advice and take time off. Also, I know that if God called me to it even when the obstacles come, He will take me through it. I also had to remember that the race is not given to the swift or the fastest person but it is to them that can endure the to the end. And here I am still enduring, still going and trusting that God who started a good work in my life and through this platform will bring it to completion.
Beautyfullchick has been impactful to so many. Every step is progress.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
By night I’m a content creator, and by day am a nurse, but it’s all switched around because I work night shifts, so I actually create most of my content during the day and on days that I’m off. I have been a registered nurse since 2013. I have worked in geriatrics , acute care settings, and also rehab settings. My specialty has been in acute care which I have predominantly worked in.

I make it a point to give the best care to my patients when I step into the hospital. My goal is to put whatever ever bothers me aside and serve my patients with joy. The same thing goes with my content creation online. I make it a point to give the best to my ability and Spread Joy. The joy of knowing that not everyone has the opportunity to do what I do and I am privileged and honored to serve a lot people around me. That attitude and perspective earned me a nomination for Best Nurse in my facility in my first year straight out of college. That attitude also got me featured on many big pages for my content creation.I have continued in my endeavor to give the best version of me to the people I serve.

What sets me apart is my work demeanor and attitude . I don’t know the number of times my patients have said “thank you for being my Nurse, you bring me so much joy every time you step into my room“. Same goes with people who know me or get to me (whether in real life or my social media platform) they talk about the joy I radiate when the meet me. Joy is something people need today in our society, especially with everything that’s happening in our world. If I have been called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, then I will serve others and radiate Joy to others who don’t have it or get to experience it.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I’ll say this…stepping into your calling is not an easy task. It can be scary and very daunting, but there is a blessing that comes with jumping out while scared. You give God opportunity for Him to be God and for Him to help you soar on wings like Eagles. Remember that if God has called you to do something, stop trying to overanalyze if you are good enough or if people will listen to you or what everybody else is doing.

There are tons and tons of beauty lines out there but in the midst of the saturation of the industry, Rihanna launched Fenty and has blown up in the Beauty industry.
All I am saying is , stop thinking about who is doing it. If God called you to it, be yourself, answer the call and your gifts will make room for you.

Thank you again Voyage Dallas for this opportunity. It has been such a pleasure chatting with y’all.
