Rising Stars: Meet Seerel Meadows

Today we’d like to introduce you to Seerel Meadows.

Hi Seerel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
When I first moved to Dallas five years ago, I was astonished by how much this amazing city had to offer. All my life, I’ve always been the first to know about new restaurants, pop-ups, concerts, and events. I’ve prided myself on being the ultimate tour guide of wherever I lived. When I moved to Dallas, I had my work cut out for me!

After a few years of pounding the pavement and finding my favorite spots, I realized this information should not just be shared with my visiting guests, but with all those that love this city or those who just appreciate food-gazing at a gorgeous new seasonal cocktail. Dallas Discovered was born to share the creativity of this city with those eager to partake but without the time to research. I try it all so I can find the gems and my audience can save their energy and money for the best of the best. Dallas is fast-moving landscape and there is nothing more frustrating than hearing about an amazing event once it’s over. I make it a point to share content in a timely manner so everyone can enjoy this unbelievable city as much as I do.

Since then, I’ve built an amazing community thanks to an engaged audience, phenomenal Dallas businesses, and a true enjoyment of all things new and memorable.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The smoothest part of the road has been working with the amazing entrepreneurs I’ve met in Dallas. The people behind the scenes of the restaurants, venues, concepts, and getaways have been a pleasure to work with and one of the most rewarding parts of this industry is seeing these people live out their dreams. It’s a privilege to have the information I share make a difference in supporting these businesses and helping them grow.

Because I started Dallas Discovered right in the midst of the pandemic, it gave me the chance to feature resilient businesses that rose to the challenge and offered food and services within the realm of Covid restrictions. It became a fulfilling challenge to highlight and reward the ingenuity of these industrious Dallas businesses. Since then, it’s been fun to watch the world reopen, businesses flourish, and new ideas emerge and adapt after such a dismal global experience.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Dallas Discovered is the ultimate insider guide to innovative experiences in Dallas. My mission is to bolster the lifestyle sector of Dallas in terms of both patrons and businesses alike. I strive to find unique, exceptional restaurants, events, and entrepreneurs and share their creations with my audience.

Throughout my life, and in my Marketing background, I have always enjoyed hosting and creating, and now I get to do it on a larger scale. I’ve always loved sharing the latest and greatest experiences with my friends and that’s how I think of my audience – as friends eager to explore Dallas. I take them along with me to my favorite spots and events.

Since its inception, Dallas Discovered has continually been at the forefront of the ever-changing entertainment scene because that is where I’ve always liked to be. Dallas Discovered is authentically me. From restaurants, I love, to staycations that saved my sanity, and even my dog-approved pet hot spots, I give my all, and my many Happy Hour recommendations, to my audience.

My overarching goal is to provide my audience with recommendations they can trust and can adapt to their needs and desires. My reliable guides are constantly sourced by visitors and Texas natives alike to find the best holiday extravaganzas, truly Texan experiences, or limited-time pop-ups.

I’m also proud that I can give a platform to local businesses to showcase their own creativity and talent and reach audiences they may not have been able to on their own. This career allows me to source the best that Dallas has to offer and deliver it to the people that most want to experience it, whether that be in person or simply through pictures.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
My advice for people just beginning to build their social media presence would be to find a good balance between your vision and your audience’s interests. Be adaptable and engage with your audience. Every follower brings with them a specific need or desire and engaging with them can help guide content creation. Respond to questions and comments and open a dialogue with the people taking time to engage with you. No matter the size of your audience, if they trust your taste, they will share your finds and bring more people to your platform. But, don’t feed the trolls, it’ll just zap your energy and squash your spirit.

Something I wish I’d known when I was first starting out what was how important it is to truly

partner with business owners. Each restaurant visit or hotel stay is the start of a relationship and some of my favorite experiences to share are repeat features that have evolved, expanded, or branched off as a new venture. Having these partnerships helps cultivate growth for both the business and Dallas Discovered.
