Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanysha Parker.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Once high school was completed, I made several attempts to complete college. During that time, I was struggling to meet success. Spending most of my life trying to conform to the normalities of the world; you know get a degree, work for a company, get married, have kids, and then live happily ever after. Over a period of time, I began to feel lost, misplaced, and overall hopeless to ever live my fairy tale.
Jumping straight into 2020, where I was then a mother of 1 to my 4-year-old son at the time and was let go from job after job, and soon finding myself struggling to find work due to the pandemic. I hit my absolute lowest mentally and emotionally, which soon took a toll on me physically and spiritually. I never thought I was capable of being the creative type, but after a million prayers to finding peace, an interest soon sparked for photography/videography. I remember an experienced videographer was offering videography classes on the mechanics of the camera and suggested software to use. I put together whatever money I could and attended his 4-week course. I instantly fell madly in love with it all. Being able to tell a story with or without words and creating sequences to display the act of it all felt so exhilarating. It became second nature to me. Felt like I had been doing it for years, but it was only the beginning for me.
From not knowing my place to creating my very own was so rewarding. I turned what little I had into a business where I am now successfully generating income, creating imagery for clients who may need headshots, branding/lifestyle, sell a product, or are even getting married. I am creating beautiful visual videos and/or photos on a day-to-day basis, traveling for commission or working in my place of residence, CreateHer Visuals is allowing me to live proudly and freely!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Reading the question and trying not to type the cuss words I really want to use made me chuckle HAHAHA! No way has it been a smooth road nor will it ever be, but what would you actually gain if it was. Looking back, I was not mentally, emotionally, physically nor financially in a healthy place, and even today as I type this, I am still trying to find a healthy balance between it all. I struggled and the more this journey occurs I will continue to struggle, but each new obstacle it will be from experience. With God on my side, directing my steps I will be able to handle any further struggles that will come my way. At this age and healing heart, I am prepared to fight for what I not only want but for what I need as well. Not only does my life depend on it, but the life of my son does as well!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am Tanysha Parker and the proud Owner/Creator of CreateHer Visuals, where we make it our personal mission to capture a creative visual for you and your brand.
Both Photography and Videography is our passion. There is something so special, so endearing about capturing those once-in-a-lifetime kind of moments. We seek out those intimate and joyful times on your wedding day by capturing the essence of every special moment on camera.
Product photography attracts the right customers, tells a story, and lifts the overall quality of the product. Collectively we will develop a style designed for your products, then we will create a shot list, and last but not least a backdrop or background that will be suitable for the products.
Our portrait sessions is about capturing the essence, personality, identity, and attitude of you by utilizing backgrounds, lighting and posing. These sessions are ideal for Headshots, Graduation, Maternity, and Birthdays.
It is also our personal mission to capture a creative visual for your brand. The content created for your brand is vital for consumer engagement and sales. With these packages, together we will come up with a story to tell, work on a basic list of key shots and then capture the moment.
As we are focused exclusively on making memories, it is the added personal touch that allows us to photograph truly beautiful and unique moments that reflect you and whatever endeavor you will embark on.
While I realize that there are other photographers/videographers with similar skills and more experience, I pride myself in being punctual, consistent, and creative. No two sets of mine are just alike!
Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
As crazy as it may sound, I got my outlook on risk-taking from Sing 1 and 2 HAHAHA! When Buster Moon said and I quote “When you’ve reached rock bottom, there’s only one way to go, and that’s up!” How do you know that you will fail if you don’t attempt it and even if you do fail figure out what can you learn from it? Take the risk (in reasoning) and grow from it! Believe in yourself and make the investment, step out on faith and watch the transformation take place.
