Hi Alexis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
In 2016 I received my bachelor’s degree in social work. I found a fantastic job within the foster care and adoption community. After four years as a case manager, while also working weekends bartending, I realized I wanted to open my own business. I have always loved party planning, bartending, and interacting with all types of people. The summer of 2021 I opened Ruff Draft Co. with the support of my family. I enjoy being a small part of my clients’ important events! I am so glad I took the leap to be my own boss!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The road to opening your own business is not a smooth one! Creating a brand, marketing, the crazy schedule, and leaning how to run a business constantly keeps me on my toes. There are so many things that could go wrong, but the journey is so rewarding. I am so proud of how much the company has grown within the last 18 months.

Ruff Draft Co. is a mobile bartending company based out of Fort Worth. We provide bartending services to any type of private parties! We bring our handmade bar to your event and serve drinks to your guests! We also help create a customized menu based on the theme of your event to make it extra special! From weddings to backyard parties, we serve any size event!
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is creating a wholesome and meaningful life for myself and my family. My business has given me the freedom to be creative and give my family, especially my son more one-on-one time. A long life isn’t guaranteed, but I can use this business to build a great life!
