Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney LaShaun.
Hi Courtney, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I started out pretty young, in my opinion. I was 6 or 7 years old and living in Maryland. I actually started by dancing; I was on a dance team but we practiced in the modeling academy. So, I ended up giving it a try and it stuck. I did stop for a while just focusing on dance until high school. From there I have worked on myself and my skills and a few years later I signed with my first agency but for most of us our job isn’t where we retire. So, it took a little while to find the right fit. Eventually, I did end up with a mother Agency in San Antonio. From there with her help, I was able expand representation to Dallas as well as New York. Along the way, I have had the opportunity to work in music videos and as well as film alongside other creatives.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
There have been plenty of struggles along the way and they continue to present themselves but if I focused on them, I would distracted from what my main goal is.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As a model and Actress, I work in areas of runway, print, and film. An advertisement for Nue Vodka out of Dallas, TX, and recently walking in NYFW for September 2022 are some of my recent works. My goals adjust as I am able to mark one off, I add another, so I am always pushing for something more.
Any big plans?
I would say I am looking forward to the summer of 2023. I’m looking to spend some time in New York as well as overseas but until then I’m looking forward to the opportunities that present themselves along the way.
