Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Anderson.
Hi Jeremy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The major part of my story would probably be summer school going into high school. That is where I learned more about structure, stability, and my many talents. I have always been interested in baking, cooking, music, journalism, and theatre. The classes I took in school helped me work on these skills which helped me to expand into each of these different fields. The little details I learned while being in school have stuck with me until now, which has helped me stay consistent in what I have learned. During this time, I did not know how talented I was, I always felt awkward, out of place, and like I didn’t fit in. The cool kids weren’t interested in any of these things, only the ‘nerds’ and “weirdos” were. It wasn’t until towards the end of high school/beginning of college that I finally realized I was trying to fit in with the wrong people. The ones who were making fun of me and my interest didn’t even believe in themselves and were trying to drag me down with them. They saw my talents but I didn’t because I was too focused on listening to the negative things, they were saying about me. I am and always will be very grateful for the things I went through while being in school because they helped shape me into the person I am today.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
While others may hear my story and believe that I have been through so much, I try not to look at it like that anymore. I believe that nothing bad actually happens to me because all negatives can be turned into positives. An example of this would be me being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of seven. I look at this as a positive because if I did not have diabetes, my eating habits what be even worse than what they are now. I love trying new foods (especially anything deep-fried or sweet.) Due to the fact that I am diabetic, I have to refrain from eating certain things so often because I know it could affect me in such a negative way. Being picked on in any way made me into a stronger person, and losing any friend helped me either realize how I did someone wrong or helped me realize that someone wasn’t meant to be in my life. It’s all about perspective at this point in my life.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Honestly, I am a multi-talented person. I’ve been working in journalism and media-related fields for a while. I am currently specializing in creative direction/project management. Right now, I am a media personality on YouTube by the name of “Jay Nostalgia” doing reality tv show reviews and celebrity gossip & news. Recently, I was selected to be a brand ambassador for a skin/haircare brand by the name of “The Mane Attraction.” Creative direction/project management is also one of the things I am very passionate about. In February of this year, I was the creative director of an amazing music project called “The Last Sunflower” by Vicious Vision, which was my first-time creative directing anything in the music industry. Within the past couple of months, I received my certification in music industry essentials & at this moment, I am taking courses to be certified in project management.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
First and foremost, God has always been my number one in anything that I have done. God has always showed me the way when I felt stuck or did know what to do next. I will always be thankful to anyone who has supported me whether that be in person or on social media in any way shape or form, including all family and friends. Both of my parents have instilled hard work and dedication in me since the day I was born. In the entertainment industry. I would like to say that TS Madison & Tabitha Brown have been great influences when I needed some inspiration from someone who was where I would like to be in entertainment. No matter what, I will always appreciate them for sharing their stories and inspiring me and many others whether they realize it or not.
