Meet Aziah & Zion Senegal

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aziah & Zion Senegal.

Hi Aziah & Zion, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Mental health awareness has always been important in the Senegal Twins’ family, even for these seven-year-old twins. Born in Baltimore and living in Dallas, the twins witnessed their mother struggle with depression and other mental health issues and decided to help in the best way they knew how: writing about it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road was definitely not smooth. The twins have a very hard-working single mother who was working through depression, anxiety, the stress of raising children on her own, on top of running her own businesses…are you exhausted yet? The twins had front-row seats to Mommy having a bad day, or a bad week. Their tenacity in actively trying to help their mom regain her happiness is what prompted their book, “Help Mommy Find Her Superpowers.”

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Aziah is a creative genius; whether it’s art, dancing, singing, or performing, this girl is a star and she knows it. Zion is a billionaire in the making. He’s a math genius and loves all things technology; that’s the equation to generational wealth. They’re most proud of their book, “Help Mommy Find Her Superpowers,” and also being 7-year-old owners of a food truck, ZZ’s Ice Cream Puffs.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
We believe everything happens in divine timing. We are exactly where we are supposed to be, and for that, we’re blessed to have a story to tell at such a young age. We can only hope that our story can continue to have a happy ending by helping other ‘mommies’ find their superpowers as well.
