Hi Brittany, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been a freelance social media manager for almost a year now! I was inspired by other social media managers on TikTok which helped me decide that was what I wanted to do. I started posting all my knowledge about social media in the form of TikToks consistently for over 3 months. After 3-4 months I was able to quit my day job and be a freelancer full-time, which was a huge milestone for me. Since then, every single one of my clients has found me through TikTok or Instagram. I have not paid a single penny to market myself. I think it’s very important to show your audience that you can grow on social media by using your own account as a testimony.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Running a business is never easy, especially since this is the first business I’ve owned. My whole life (up until now) I’ve worked for someone else. I wasn’t prepared to face the difficulties that business owners face on a daily. In a normal job, your day is structured and you know exactly what you need to accomplish that day. Running a business is different. You’re not only your own boss, but you’re the only person who is there to tell you what to do, when to do it, and even mistakes to avoid. In conclusion, there are a lot of struggles I faced, and even more lessons I’ve learned, but this is what I live for now. I want to keep learning how to be a better business owner and specifically learn how to scale my business effectively and efficiently.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in providing social media management services to small business owners. I’ve worked with startups, realtors, podcast hosts, musicians, physical therapists, influencers, and more. My doors are open to any and all businesses. I’ve been known for making excellent Reels and TikToks. In fact, when I hop on a call with a prospect and I ask them what about my account grabbed their attention, the first thing they say is “your videos perform so well”. Content creation is what sets me apart from other social media managers. I can develop strategies, brand voice, and messaging but Reels and TikToks are my bread and butter.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I packed up my life and moved across the country while I was still in college to a state I had never been to or even desired to visit with no money and no job, but I knew it would all work out … and it did.
