Rising Stars: Meet Cassie Cross

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassie Cross.

Hi Cassie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started photography back in 2020. To be honest, photography wasn’t even in my plans, but when I got furloughed from my job, I had to time to find my purpose. I decided to pursue photography because there is so much creativity! Photography gives me the ability to create art and produce images that can last a lifetime. It gives me the opportunity to develop different ideas and also helps me to discover my niche. The beauty of creativity gives me the vision to challenge myself!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No photography wasn’t a smooth ride for a beginner lol. I was struggling a lot lol. I couldn’t find my style of photography, my niche, or even what type of editing style. I had so many people telling me that I should do, but I had to realize what would spark my inner creativity.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My art is based on colors and vibes. I don’t have a certain style of editing because my editing is based off the energy that is given from the picture. My proudest moment is when I shared Taraji P. Henson’s Instagram story and later on that day she emailed me with some kind words about my photography. I’ve overcome many challenges by watching tons of YouTube videos and getting knowledge from other photographers. In photography, I’ve learned that I have to surround myself around people who has the same vision and creativity as me. My brand is based on creativity, vibes, empowerment, and love. It’s all about capturing the beauty from the inside out.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I want to send a special thanks to my amazing husband, DeMarkqua Cross. I wouldn’t have done any of this without him. He is very supportive in all my decisions and always sharing kind words when I get overwhelmed. Photography isn’t an easy career path to pursue, so it’s always good to find a good support system. He is my number-one supporter!
